Music while I write: You were always extraordinary

Everyone’s creative process is different. Mine usually involves music. What I listen to depends on mood, what’s occurring in the scene, who the characters are, etc.

Here is a list of what I’ve listened to so far while writing my new book.

Lewis Capaldi: No songs in particular, just his essentials on shuffle

How Do I Say Goodbye—Dean Lewis

Room for 2, To Love Someone, Pretty Slowly, In The Stars—Benson Boone

All by Myself—Celine Dion (Yes, in a non-ironic way)

Angel, Sweet Surrender, I Will Remember You—Sarah McLachlan

Iris—The Goo Goo Dolls

Everybody Hurts—R.E.M.

Don’t Speak—No Doubt

Don’t Know Why, Come Away with Me—Norah Jones

Potion—Djo

Only the Good Die Young, The River of Dreams—Billy Joel

If I Can Dream, Lonesome Tonight—Elvis Presley

How Do I Live—LeAnn Rimes

I Will Always Love You—Whitney Houston

Noticing a mood here? I’ll update as I write and add the songs I listen to here.

I’ve been trying to stay within the decade that I’m currently writing in, but there are some present-day songs that I’ve been listening to that still fit on theme.
